Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Special Edition Report Part 3 Page TwoThe action then stops as Kadaj rides his motorcycle into the church and brakes into the flower field, sending petals flying into the air. Immediately after coming to a full stop, he brings up a steel box that he was cradling all along and says, "Mother!" But as he looks at it, the viewpoint changes to the inside of the box, looking out and up at Kadaj from a wide cut across the side of the container. His expression changes from one of happiness and anticipation to one of disbelief and horror. Holding the box in both hands, he keeps staring into the box and starts an almost imperceptible rocking motion. His voice catches in his throat and he chockes on several sobs while asking, "Mother!?" He holds the box to his chest, as a mother would hold a child, and the rocking motion becomes all the more obvious. He yells out, "Mother!!" and this time, a very audible sob and gasp of pain is heard. He goes on and starts crying while trying to calm himself by rocking more. Suddenly, there is a flashback of a man sitting in the back of a flatbed truck. The man turns out to be Zack and while looking off into the distance, he says, "What're you going to do once we get to Midgar?" A close up of his face follows and he chains up with, "We're friends, right?" Suddenly, the location changes to a desert with Zack running and yelling at Cloud to run, all the while raising a sword to strike at an unseen target. The scene changes again to a rainy shot of Cloud standing outside of a temple, next to its supporting pillars, with Fenrir at his side. There is a pink ribbon attached to his left bicep and he is seen gingerly touching it, almost afraid to come into contact with it. The setting changes again, but this time, to a large body of water with several buildings in a blurred background. An amazingly clear and focused drop of water falls into water, splashes and a disembodied voice is heard saying, "Let's go, Cloud." The screen slowly fades away into white and everything disappears. The location reverts back to Midgar as Bahamut crouches down and takes to the air. Out of nowhere, Cloud is seen screaming through the air, chasing after the Dragon King. The view changes to behind the summon, looking down at Cloud and he is flying effortlessly without any aid, holding his sword next to him while being surrounded by a blue aura. It then cuts to a scene somewhere earlier in the movie with Tifa in front of a window, clouds blowing past. She goes on to ask, "During our last battle two (2) years ago, do you remember what it was like to be strong? It's only been two (2) years, but somehow that strength has slipped away. I think Cloud's found it again, though." As she finishes saying that, the screen cuts to Bahamut flying down through a veil of mist with bright blue energy peeking through the corner of its mouth. Down below, Cloud is fearlessly rushing up to meet him with naught but his sword. The following several scenes alter between the same shots but progressively zooming in closer each time. Finally, a full frontal view of Bahamut shows the Dragon King opening its mouth to unleash a ball of the raw energy it has been accumulating. The action comes to another stop as the scene changes back to the church with Kadaj still clutching the box. He is still crying and gasping for air. He finally takes a large breath of air, tightens his hold on the container and cries out in anguish with tears brimming at the corners of his eyes. Suddenly, the scene cuts to Cloud falling down head first, parallel to a building. He pulls back both swords and plunges them into the side of the building. He quickly adjusts himself so that he stands on the back of the blades. Looking up, he realizes that the building has started to collapse and he is unlucky enough to be under the falling debris. Working up his expression into one of annoyance, he transfers his weight to one blade as he reaches under to pull the free blade out. With the danger looming even closer, he stabs the blade into the building again but farther out. He then lets himself fall between the swords and grabs hold of them. He puts his feet on the building and using that as leverage, he effortlessly pulls his weapons out of solid concrete. Having done so, he brings about his swords and instead of falling away from the debris, he flies up to meet them, slashing at anything and everything unfortunate enough to be in his way. As he does so, an unknown voice says, "I will-" but gets cut off as Cloud hacks away at more rubble. Suddenly, the voice comes back, incredibly calm and repeats, "I will never be a memory." At that, an amazingly large piece of junk flashes out. It disintegrates before it even reaches Cloud and a blur of silver and black is seen above it, following through its slash with an impossibly long and thin blade. As he rushes down faster, he brandishes the unmistakable Masamune as the face of the much feared Sephiroth fills up the entire screen. A final flash of a rusty Buster Sword fills the scene before everything fades into black for the credits to start spiralling into view.
