Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Special Edition Report Part 2 Page TwoA sudden sound makes both men jump and go on the alert. Vincent reaches for his gun while Cloud jumps up and has his sword at the ready. None other than Marlene comes running out of the woods. She precipitates herself onto Cloud and despite her fear and agitation, she tries to speak. All that she can mutter is "Cloud! Denzel... and, and Tifa...!" Before she even finishes, Cloud ask that Vincent take the child back to the bar (7th Heaven) while he attempts to squeeze whatever answers he can from Shinra. Despite the urgency of the situation, Vincent claims he can't and as they start to argue, Marlene flares up and yells at Cloud. She gets mad at him and throws the following statement in his face, "Why don't you ever listen to us, our problems?" With that said, she runs to Vincent and hides under his cloak. As Cloud tries to explain the upcoming battle isn't a fight that can just be fought with weapons, he asks that she understands and gives him some time. True to a child's anger, she refuses to see his point of view. At this point, there is a flashback of Tifa yelling at Cloud telling him to stop running. She goes on to say that the inability to effectively control their destinies is a fear that has much too great of a grip on him. After this, the setting is once again in the forest with Vincent asking him, "Cloud... are you sure this is about fighting?" As he ponders his answer, yet another flashback occurs and this time, Tifa asks of Cloud, "Why do we have to lose out to a memory?" He still can't forget the fact that he didn't do anything when Sephiroth stabbed Aeris. He still feels guilty about it. As Aeris' disembodied voice tells him to turn around and face forward, she questions him, "Why won't you forgive yourself?" It is the woods once again and Cloud finally looks up and asks, "Are sins ever forgiven?" Vincent's answer of "I've never tried." surprises him and he suddenly comes to a realization. Taking resolve, he says to Marlene, "Let's go home." As they both walk away, Cloud turns to his friend and says, "I'm going to try. I'll let you know how it goes."At Midgar's city square (circle?), the atmosphere is ripe with fear, panic, chaos and destruction. Mysterious beasts (Shadowcreepers) appear out of projected shadows. As they appear, the city center is being emptied as panicked and scared citizens flee before this new menace. Only one brave figure walks toward the danger and as the screen clears, it is none other than Tifa. As she looks around, she spots Denzel and runs to him. As she reaches him and tries to snap him out of his reverie, he slowly looks up. Tifa gasps as the shot centers on his eyes. One moment, they are as normal as day and then, there is that sudden flicker where they become green and cat-like, with the iris becoming a vertical slit. A brief flash and the setting changes to that of President Shinra, still in his wheelchair, high up in the ruins of an abandoned building. Kadaj joins him and walks right up to the edge of the floor. The shot changes to a wide angle that shows them side by side. A slight change of angle reveals that Kadaj's forearm is shining under its own light. He gives an oddly satisfied smile and turns around to face his companion. He raises his shining forearm and concentrates. Energy flows around it and as it becomes more and more intense, Kadaj gives it a final look before turning slightly and unleashing it skywards. The clouds part to make room for the bolt of raw energy but it soon enlarges to become a big hole. That is short-lived as it collapses right away and transforms into a tornado-like funnel. Lightning flashes in the sky constantly as the funnel extends lower and lower. Down at ground level, two (2) people notice the disturbance in the sky. As they stop and observe the strange phenomenon, the lower part of the funnel suddenly detaches itself from the clouds. Its shape keeps changing as it hangs in mid-air. The scene now cuts to a close-up of the independent blob of cloud. The rate of transformation accelerates to the point where the cloud reveals something solid. As it materializes, a face of some kind appears until a powerful and immense roar is heard emanating from the creature. As it changes, the camera remains stationary but pivots with the monster until the point of view is that of the monster's back. There are extra appendages (other than its arms and legs) attached to the back. It seems to hover for a few instants when suddenly, the appendages snap open to reveal enormous and powerful wings. They beat the air once and open to their full span, allowing the creature a controlled dive to the city down below. The sudden realization of what, or who it is, strikes fear into the hearts of many for that entity is none other than... the mighty Bahamut, KING of Dragons.
