Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Special Edition Report Part 2 Page OneAs Cloud rides, the camera follows him from behind. Not only does he still have his harness, there seems to be a device with a blinking red light attached to it. His mind starts to wanders and suddenly, he stumbles, on foot, into an entirely white room. Cloud takes his time to straighten himself and when he finally does, his facial expression isn't one of surprise. It is one of sadness and grief. Taking a closer look, he actually appears to be pained with the burden of intense guilt. The camera very slowly rotates and the top part of another person's head appears behind Cloud. Bit by bit it rotates until a pink hair ribbon appears. At that moment, a voice speaks up and says, "You came." That is, indeed, the much anticipated Aeris. The shot then shows a frontal view of her shoes in a field of flower. Resuming the conversation, after she said, "You came.", she follows up with, "Even though you're about to break... That's a good sign." As she says that, she puts her hand on the exact spot where Cloud put his hand on when he was about to ride Fenrir. The scene then switches to a wide angle shot of Cloud and Aeris standing back to back in an immense flower field. She then asks him, "Why did you come?" Cloud ponders his answer for a few precious seconds and replies with, "Forgiveness... I think. Yeah. I want to be forgiven." The scene abruptly changes to an upward shot of Aeris' chest and lower face. She smiles, does a half giggle and asks, "By who?" At that comment, he tries to turn around to see her but alas, the scene cuts back to the forest and he is still on his motorcycle. He simply looks at the forest behind him.As he faces forward again, there are gunshots and the camera's point of view switches to that of Cloud. There are firearm flashes and the camera zooms ahead to show Kadaj smirking. Cloud narrowly avoids a few more shots and the view changes from the intended victim to the attackers. Both Loz and Yazoo, who are firing small gunblades, are flanking Kadaj. Bullets seem to bounce off Fenrir's tough armor and the sound of projectiles ricocheting seem to prove that point. At that moment, the vehicule's sides open up to reveal a collection of six (6) swords, three (3) on each side. He brandishes a sword, swerves to the left (his left) to avoid another barrage of shots, goes back to the right of the road and then accelerates down the middle straight into the silver-haired trio. That is when Kadaj takes a few steps forward all the while waving his right arm in the air in a circular motion. At that command, orphans seemingly fall from trees and land near the area. More and more of them land until all the children are gathered. Cloud looks ahead and realizes what has happened. The orphans are blocking his path to Kadaj and his gang. As he looks more closely, his eyes widen in recognition and in horror. Standing right in the middle of his path was Denzel, with Marlene (panicking and in fear) at his side, trying in vain to pull him away. As Cloud approaches even more, the headlights shine on Denzel's face and reveals his eyes to be exactly the same as Kadaj and his gang. Not wanting to hurt the orphans, much less Marlene and Denzel, Cloud suddenly breaks and does his best to stop Fenrir. The result is of him losing control. The motorcycle skids and as Cloud puts his foot down, it starts to cartwheel. In the process, he gets shaken off, his sword flies out of his hands only to embed itself near the base of a tree. Cloud himself rolls on the ground a few times due to momentum. As that happens, all the children form a large circle around him and Kadaj. Cloud is trying to sit up after the incident while his quarry is standing in front of him, sword drawn and at his side. As the former tries to regain his senses, the silver-haired man taunts him with, "Glad you could make it." Cloud barely gives him time to finish before saying, "I'm here for the kids." Kadaj seems to disregard the answer and starts to walk circles around his opponent, explaining to the orphans that Cloud is their big brother but "It's really too bad he's a traitor." With that said, he stops, brandishes his sword and points it to Cloud's neck. Smirking to himself, he lifts the sword and prepares to strike. At that very moment, a single bullet is fired and goes on to deflect the sword. Kadaj is not only annoyed at this turn of events but turns to the camera with an ugly scowl on his face. The view switches to that of a red cape filling the entire screen, swirling in the same manner as would a vortex. The angle then switches to Yazoo shooting the intruder to the best of his abilities but even that isn't enough. Shots are seen streaking through the air but everytime, the cape flutters and disappears behind a tree. It is almost as if the cape had a life of its own. As the cloak vanishes for the last time, Kadaj stares in wonder to what just happened but that quickly turns into undisguised rage. Though this saves Cloud's life, this was also a distraction that allowed both friends to escape unscathed. The next scene shows Cloud sitting down, partially obstructed by a tree but that soon changes as the camera pans around. He finally speaks up, saying, "I was right. I'm no good to anyone." As he speaks, he looks away and a rough red silhouette appears. He chains it up with, "Vincent... What exactly is going on?" As quick as lightning, Vincent closes the distance between the two (2) men and grabs Cloud's arm. At the moment of contact, there is a very brief flash. He goes on to explain that there is a current ressembling the Lifestream in their bodies that fight off invading alien matter. While saying this, he is still clamping down on Cloud's left arm. Despite his resilience, the latter cannot suppress a grimace of pain as the pressure continues. Vincent continues by clarifying that when the body overcompensates for the unwelcome guest, the result is geostigma. He then stands up and walks around, revealing the all too familiar golden forearm with a claw for a hand and his golden elongated footwear. Despite Cloud's lack of understanding, he continues by saying that the alien matter in this situation is the Sephiroth gene. He also gives another name for it, "Jenova's genetic legacy". Confirming Cloud's suspicions, he says that the Mother that Kadaj is so actively looking for is "Heaven's dark harbinger, Jenova." He then goes on to reveal the startling truth that if need be, another Sephiroth can be created... |
